Could this be due to the magnetic field of the hard drive interfering
with the reed switch that controls sleep? I know this is sometimes an
issue with upgrading hard drives in wallstreets.

Does anyone know of online instructions for swapping the optical drive
on early model TiBooks? I just replaced the DVD-ROM drive in my 400MHz
Powerbook G4 with a combo drive (largely through trial and error), and
was wondering if I did it 100% right (the combo drive works like a
charm, but
Having put a 256MB module in the top slot of my WallStreet II
(233MHz), I'm now interested in replacing the 32MB module in the lower
slot. But a technician at my institution told me that, on this
particular configuration, the bottom module is soldered into the slot
and not easily removed.
You're right. It is MCE. Check out

I have the same problem after upgrading to 10.2.3 and beyond. Seems to
be a quirk with the newer versions of Jaguar and Wallstreets. I am
told a Jaguar reinstall would fix it.

Well, I'm finally about to replace my Wallstreet with a
first-generation TiBook. Just wondering if I can use PC133 SODIMMs
meant for the later TiBooks instead of PC100.

I managed to get my Laserwriter Pro 630 to work with my BW in Jaguar
by using a USB-to-parallel cable and doing the following in Print
Center:
Option-click Add.
Select Advanced from the drop-down list.
Choose IEEE 1284 Controller from the Device menu.
Select Printer Model.

Did you disable processor cycling in the Energy Saver control panel?

1a) Will OS X recognize both batteries (if you have one in each bay)?
Yes
1b) If it does, does it treat it as one large battery, or does it give
you two battery indicators?
I have had two batteries for some time now, but have never had the need
to use both under OS X. When I use both of

Hi Jim,
Tried what you suggested, but still no go. What happened was
exactly as you described. I got a happy mac, followed by an instant reboot
into Jaguar. Looks like putting OS 9.2.2 on the second partition (instead
of the first with Jaguar) may have something to do with it, as

I'm not sure it can be done. You would need to remove the stock CD-ROM from
the housing and you cannot do so without irreparably damaging the housing.

Nope, the photo build guide at xlr8yourmac.com is meant for Pismo and Lombard
CD-ROM drives. Apparently, the Wallstreet drive is built somewhat differently.
The screws are all in the wrong place for the Wallstreet drive and you cannot
slide the housing out just by following the instructions
