Try the crossover ethernet cable. I connect my Lombard and iBook (700) via a plain ethernet cable. The iBook will recognize the cable automatically. In the book you wish to copy files from, set file sharing on and firewall off. You should see the book in your network. This works for me, but I h

One thing you will need to do on the Wallstreet is make sure that Appletalk is an active extension (or is it a control panel and extension), but anyway you need to make sure that appletalk is set to use ethernet. And then on the OSX machine, go to the networking and for the ethernet port,

I think you may need to manually set up ip addresses on each powerbook. This is not difficult, but your original post leads to believe that you may not agree. :) On the OSX machine, go to System Preferences -> Network -> Ethernet -> Configure and type in 192.168.1.1 for IP address and 255.255.
