Suspect lombard Ethernet Port

I emailed the list on Friday about the ethernet port on my daughter's Lombard. I now have the machine to hand. For quite a while this afternoon I couldn't get it to do anything on the network at all. Although phyisically connected (via an ethernet cable I know to be good, into a hub)
