Do you hear the BONG when it starts up?
It could be one of the following:
1. the little battery is dead
2. The HD is dead

I found a site ( http://www.macintoshgarden.org/ ) that has a load of
apps/games even operating systems for Mac OS 7-9 systems.
Problem is that some of these good things are saved in binary form as they are
more intended for emulators as ship shaver and Basillisk.

Thank you all for your input.
I decided to format the drive and start fresh, as the PowerMac G3 came with the

Hi everyone,
Have a PowerMac G3 400MHz with 1GB Ram and an IBM 60GB HD/7200rpm built 2001.
On Mac OS 8.6 I had 17.8 GB left on my HD, I copied about 6GB uncompressed

Is there a problem with Mac OS 8,6 handling data
Hi all.
I have a G3 400MHz/1GB Ram and I am amazed by the difference in performance
from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X 10.3!
I have not installed Mac OS X 10.4 yet because I do not know if my Ati Rage 128
Pro will be able to handle the 'more demanding' Mac OS X.
I think that you can also see lots of imp
My Macmini G4/1.42GHz/1GB ram/80GB HD has no start up chime anymore!
It seems to work ok, apart that the Superdrive is only reading Apple's CD/DVDs.
Is this a sign that it is dying or no start up chime its nothing to worry about?
Ane ideas?

How capable are these PowerMac G3 400MHz? What if you have max memory
installed (1GB)?
Just saw one on ebay in mint condition, is it worth buying?

I was working on my relatively unused external HD connected via Firewire on my

One of the nicest looking with decent performance that Apple ever made, but
ironically it was a commercial flop!
These days I know many collectors are dying to get their hands on one of them.
