This is good advice in general, when re-formatting something it is a
good idea to do so with the device that it will be used in, if possible.

OS X has rsync built in, RsyncX is merely a GUI shell

Ok. I missed your "over the LAN" comment in your OP. But also in
your OP you say you want a ***BACKUP***.
CCC *will* backup files over AFP. It simply creates a sparse disk
image
my itunes librarys and
movie .iso files.
Unless I'm missing something here, that's why I choose RsyncX is
because it allows backups over a network. It works for me some times
but the error code 12 has m e screwed up.

Hi all
I'm in the process of setting up RsyncX to do incremental backups of my movie
and music files. So right out of the box I get an error code 12. Any one know
what this is telling me?
Is there a better application for this. I'm doing this over my LAN. CCC wont
do it yet,
I'm getting this error code "2STF/8/3: S-ATA Bus 0 - Master on an
iMac. Everything was fine after transferring data and applications
the first time it was started up. Now this. Any suggestions?
