Not all gray OS X discs are for a specific system. I got a gray OS
10.4 (Tiger) DVD that was made for training purposes. It covered
whatever machines existing at the time that could take Tiger. It
didn't have any extras except for X11.

The retail versions come on black disks. Beware of buying used Tiger
disks which are grey in color
