I have no SAPI speech on my desktop PC. Even Microsoft Sam, which I detest, does not operate. I am using Windows Home edition of XP with service pack 3 installed. In order to run Jim Kitchen's games, among others, SAPI is necessary. The program on Jim's site, which I know I will misspell,

Hi Allan, Interesting. Espeak uses the Sapi 5 API for voice output on Windows so I don't know why it would work when other Sapi compliant voices wouldn't with games. As far as ESpeak voice quality goes that is a matter of preference. Yes, I'll agree it is very robotic, but I use it every day
