I have a friend who is a graduate of the University of Hawaii. He thinks
Dooley is a great hire for Tennessee, and is happy the guy will no longer be
coaching in the WAC. He advises us not to take him lightly.
BTW, this was before I explained to him that Dooley is the spawn of Satan. Not

I ALWAYS think of him as the guy who never beat the Gators. I have respect for
his brother, who did beat the Gators (albeit the Ron Zook Gators).
I also think of Peyton as the guy who didn't come to Florida, where he could
have been coached by the best QB coach (and at the time, the best HBC),
Wow.
Way to court a Head Coach, Tennessee. The man spent years there, was family,
and you still couldn't get him. All because you didn't want to eat some
assistant coaches' salaries.
Now that's professionalism.
May their player recruiting be just as effective.

Why don't you just park on Leon's lawn? He won't mind.

fiasco?
Even Florida could get a Duke coach ;-)
I just read on espn.com that Cutcliffe turned Tennessee down to stay at Duke.
All those years as an assistant at Tennessee, and they can't convince him to
leave Duke -- DUKE -- and take the big job? That surprises me.
I had been happy with the thought he would take the position, because I'm not
Back in 2002 we had at least a couple of coaches turn us down, including Stoops.
I think the, uh . . . sub-optimal outcome of that search had more to do with
Jeremy Foley being unprepared than anything unattractive about the job.
And sometimes the pool of available coaching talent is just deep
And Kiffin is known for being smooth and slick, right? ;-)
I'm guessing that Kiffin jumped because he figured the competition isn't as
tough in the Pac-10, and because he has a built-in excuse for losing if they
get hit with sanctions.
He probably figured he could never cut it in the SEC.

What a bunch of losers, USC.
My only concern is that Tennessee will now hire someone good. Maybe they go
after Gruden?
Do they even dream of approaching Leach? Tennessee seems impervious to
criticism.

On the ESPN scroll I saw that USC said they would go after the Oregon State
coach.
I don't know what I think about them going after Kiffin. He's such a loser.
Imagine if Tennessee got someone good to replace him.

ESPN is reporting that a source from USC is stating that Pete Carroll is
leaving USC for the HC position with the Seahawks.
If true, this should help us with the California boys Meyer is recruiting. I
believe some are choosing between us and USC.

I knew that was coming.
One thing you have to admit, though, is that a lot of soccer players (at least
the ones playing in Europe) dive on the ground and pretend to have been hurt
when they've barely been touched. They are looking for a penalty kick or a
free kick or to get their opponen
