Edmund,
There are a number of people here who have done that and gave presentations
on it in previous BRLUG meetings. I use OpenBSD instead of Linux for my
firewall so I can't really help you with setting up a Linux box to do this.
I believe Ricky Salmon has provided some notes to the www.brlug.n

Congrats. I usually find as well that writing it down helps to figure out
the problem. :)
Thanks for the info about the DVD ROM, as I'm shopping around for one now.

There were some bugs and security holes in 7.0 that were fixed in subsequent
releases. If you bring a couple of blank CDs to the next meeting, I'll give
you a copy of RedHat 7.2.
I don't have much (any?) experience with SUSE, but I've heard good things
about it. There are some nice features of RH7
Okay, I figured it out, well, at least part of it. I initially didn't
investigate as far as I should have. /media/cdrom was pointing to
/dev/cdrom. Everything seemed just fine. But upon checking out /dev/cdrom,
it was pointing at /dev/hdc. That's my dvd drive. So, /media/dvd and
/media/cd

Any reason you don't want to use RH 7.2? The 7.0 version is over a year
old, IIRC. I know BRLUG has a couple of loaner copies,

I'm running Suse 7.2. I know the drives are working because Yast2 has no
problem installing software from the installation disks. And I know I
I just got a copy of Red Hat 7.0.
What are the member's preferences between that and SuSe 6.2 (the Linux
I'm using now)?
Thanks,
Shawn
