I have successfully installed splashutils on my x86 machine, as described on

At least at one time, those were considered *the* best cards to have
for use with Linux.
Looking at Matrox's driver page, and a bit of google'ing makes it
seem as though the Millenium g550 is the latest generation card from

I got a broken harddisk, so after replacing the disk i dit a restore of a
general image.
I have changed /etc/conf.d/net, /etc/hosts, /etc/domainname and
/etc/dnsdomainname.
But i still keep getting the "restore" hostname. What i'm i missing here ?

Maybe check man dhcp.leases? Or, you could try to search for it with:
$ find / -name "dhcp.leases"

I had the same problem, and fixed it by making sure
the /usr/src/linux symlink was pointing to the running
kernel source, which was in
my /home/wrc/kernel/linix-2.6.11 directory. You may need to
point the symlink to wherever your running kernel is. If it
