ince I've never used genkernel, but from what I've
heard it only configures and builds the kernel for you and copies it to
the correct location for your next boot. So I _think_ it should be OK to
run genkernel on it.

I have installed OO 1.1 from OpenOffice.org not from the portage. If I
in Gnome 2.4 click on a OO document it ask with witch program it schould
open this file, so i choose swriter and so on. Now after cliking on the
files opens it but also a blank file. How can i avoid this ?

Changing the priv's dit not help and i got a lot spam harvest, so i dit
a backup of .spamasssin and delete the ' bayes_seen' 'bayes_toks' files
tried it again and all works fine again.

downgrade of gcc (to gcc-3.2.3-r3). And guess what? Firebird works
again!

You might want to try unmasking alsa-driver in
/etc/portage/package.unmask also by adding this line into the fi
ctory and it doesn't show the base window as when only removing
~/.phoenix, it just dies.
This is with both 0.7 (which worked yesterday) and 0.7-r1 which I
upgraded to during the night. Now I have 0.7 installed again as I
thought it was 0.7-r1 that was fubared, but it didn't help downgrad
Wtf?! Now I downgraded MozillaFirebird to 0.7 as I couldn't get the
0.7-r1 version to start up, but guess what. The fng application
won't start anyway!
Plase, someone help me. 0.7 worked for me yesterday...

directory. It didn't go as far as regenerating
/usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/chrome. Before I tried removing the chrome
directory MozillaFirebird at least showed me a window for a short momemt
before crashing.

i'm trying to install gentoo on a new laptop Compaq nx9010, the starup
always freezes at usb and hotplug detection stage. Even trying to start
with gentoo nousb,dokeymap still activates the usb detection.

Don't know if it's possible to configure bash so that it breaks lines
"correctly".

erge dep1; emerge dep2...' they're not
in the world-file either, and thus 'emerge -Du world' won't update those
packages if they're not depended on by some other package that you've
installed later on...
