A livedvd was created to give away at a recent california conference but I
did not see it posted anywhere on the Release Engineering project pages.
There are other gentoo derivative distros with livedvd you can bootup
to help find the correct driver.

So, I should not have to install python 3.5. But that's no big deal.
If I do install python 3.5, it'll have it's own slot and I should leave

configs you can just manually fix those relevant config files.
So just go look on another system and manually copy/edit those
missing/modified config files, then restart the cupsd daemon.

I'm challenged enough trying to build something like Tails+Whonix
on a usb-stick for now, gentoo centric. Sure after that I'd also be
