Some considerations: For your money the 890FX from AMD with an AM3 socket is the way to go right now; 1. The MSI 890 FX GD 70 is the best value for the money on the market 2. Get at least 850W of power (1KW can be had for $169 if you shop around) 3. if speed is your goal, get the Phenom II X6
