1) Did you specify the url of your xml config file as a connection
parameter when adding the raster data source ?
2) In your log file, are there some lines containing the String

postgres/postgis by default does NOT listen on all network adapters/interfaces,
just localhost.
So with postgres listening on the correct adapter/interface, and then the

You can also use nmap on the machine hosting GeoServer to see if your

Hello everybody,
I installed GeoServer (DE) 2.0.1 which came with the precompiled
binaries from the GeoNetwork OpenSource package.
I wanted to try out the use of palettes for vector data, but frankly
speaking I don't understand the tutorial from the GeoServer User Manual

Hi,
I've just upgraded to 2.1beta and I'm having an issue making a WMS request
for the sf:sfdem dataset. I've been using this dataset to test an
application I'm working on and everything was working fine with Geoserver
2.0.1. However, now when I try and make a WMS request all I get are tiles

I've a layergroup with 2 layers and I'm requesting a cql_filter of

The result should be Minnesota with a bunch of small greenish squares and

Within a single WMS request, labels always get rendered on top of
everything else, regardless of layer order. I am not aware of a way
to disable this behavior. You could work around it by configuring
separate layers in your OpenLayers client, or using a cascading WMS
server to overlay the two
I am interested in applying my GEOSERVER knowledge and get my hand
dirty with a project. Does anyone know of any not-for-profit, or
startup organisations that could use a somewhat basic Geoserver

Oops, I just noticed that I didn't include that in my original post. I must
have missed that last line when I highlighted in the web page.

Hi Peter,
Where about on the Island are you? Drop me a note. I have a few projects in
mind for which I might be able to provide some sort of stipend.
Are you just into GeoServer, or are you game for incorporating some of the
other bits from the OpenGeo stack?
In any event we'll try to suck you
I have an Oracle table of spatial data that I want to serve as WFS using
Geoserver. The geometries are stored in an Oracle table in ESRI ST_geometry
format (ie, it comes from an ESRI SDE geodatabase).
Can I serve these data using Geoserver and just an Oracle licence? Or do I
need SDE
