Were you root?
I run SuSe, and install updates frequently, but I use YaST. I have never
had a problem.

I still prefer using Fetchmail and mail clients such as mh and exmh.

Try
rpm --rebuilddb
Then make sure your rpm package itself is current with the updates for
whatever distro+release you are running, and then do it again.

I downloaded the XFree86 from rawhide (XFree86-4.1.0-0.20.0.src.rpm) and

Each LUG should have something. The calendar I posted

I don't want to press for details you don't want to give, but at the same
time, is there somethin
Not that one should (that is, for optimal effect upon lawmakers) admit
association with or act like RMS, but his "Right to Read" fictional

Hello folks,
I was given this email by a co-worker (Mark Fearer) in hopes of answering my
Linux question. He said I was guaranteed to get a response. Whether any of
those responses lead to a solution is not guaranteed. :-)
Problem: I cannot run any of the RPM installer GUIs on RedHat 7.1

write as in snail-mail, not write as in e-mail. Very important, because
it means you cared enough to take time and write. E-mails are too quick.
2. Be polite.
3. Remember,

One thing to do in this case is to telnet in from the other machine,
become root and run a command like:
# switchto 2
which should switch you to VC #2. Hopefully that will give you a live
keyboard.
If the keyboard was working but the output missing (I've found running
some games can do this),
