Just a comment from the side-lines, it seems this bank is a poor match for
GNHLUG if they're so inflexible. I've never heard of anything so

Thursday evening, I picked up the bank paperwork from Heather.
Yesterday (Saturday 23 Aug), I brought it to the bank. Alas, they
rejected it again.
While I had visited the bank only two days before our last board
meeting, the absence from the meeting of one of our officers again

The requirements haven't really changed since this started.
In all seriousness, I think it's mostly indicative of how much banks suck.

two-signature checks. That is, checks printed such that there are

Good call on the clarification issue.
For clarification, I set up an account for Linux International, not
GNHLUG. I would not have set up an account for GNHLUG without first
posting to this list and getting agreement to do this.

One other thing.
I did not ask about checks that needed two signatures. I have never
used these in an organization.
I rely on the treasurer keeping accurate books and having them
reviewed/audited every once in a while by other parties, including the
president.

Okay... I took a vacation day and went to St. Mary's Bank Tuesday

Typically a small non-profit wants an interest-free account.
0.30% ~= 0% + Interest and Dividends Tax filings... The bank should
have an account that fits this bill - I've used Citizens for NPO's

OK. Last time I tried this (about 20 years ago), I was told a "signature
