I've been using alpha advantage to download quotes for some time now.
However, it fails with message: "unable to retrieve quotes for these
items." The list includes all my securities. Is there a new development
with alpha advantage that I should know about?
I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my explanation. The accounts all came up when I
setup the online banking and I liked the checking account to the proper
gnuCash account. Fur that reason, I assumed that the settings were all
correct.

current checking account". Is you have a checking account and a savings
account I would expect those to be separate accounts rather than one being
in some way part of the other.

should be going to the register for the Fidelity checking account and using
"Actions>Online Actions>Get Transactions". There should be no account selection
at that point.

I have set up the quotes apps so that I can pull quotes from bthe command
line (i.e., gnc-fq-dump). Until about a week ago, I could also update
quotes from GC.
Now, it is failing regularly, but with various error messages:
