I had some issues and my problem was sorted out by App - Engines team
in 7 hours although it was a weekend if I remember well.

I also feel your pain. I have an app I've been running since 2008.
The app has experienced issues when the datastore was screwing up, but
was otherwise quite stable. I've never had major issues with DDEs or
the 10 second timeouts (RPC failed to return a response...), unit a
week ago.
