As a Canadian, I have an observation that I've made.
I get the impression from American riders I've met that they expect the
road to be clear well marked when they're riding. I don't mean any
offense by this. All riding I've done in the US road defects were all
noted, marked, etc. My
Is anyone working with a satisfactory Helmet/Cellphone only setup?
I primarily want to be able to answer the phone while riding, say, "hold a
minute" and then pull off the road and converse without taking my helmet
off. Suggestions?

I'm writing a historical article that begins on December 12, 1995 on how
the GTS came to the Internet. I don't have complete

Dave, 1st thing to check. Are the battery terminals tight. Mine worked
their way loose and I had odd problems (but I guess that was the area of
town I was stranded in using a flashlight at night to diagnose the
problem) [for the S/A, yes I have battery studs just below my collar]

Can't believe it. On a rear tire change, my brake side adjuster axel
adjuster bolt became tight (how could it be cross threaded if it never was
out of the threads), so I penetrating oiled it, and proceeded to snap it
off, then snap off the screw extractor. Anyways, my winter project of

As the third web presence of the GTS (Mike Weaver the elusive Peter K.

there were many fewer GTSers on the net. It took forever to get 20 owners

Great surgical procedure. :) Robert

You've got to be very careful not to let the cutting wheel
hit the spring...which is about 1/4" inside the cover. I was

I have a 1993 GTS1000A that I'd like to sell. I am the second owner, and
I
bought it from the original owner last year. It's red, has never been

Yamaha tank bra and original factory Yamaha/Krauser hard sidecases.
If someone is up to it, it's probably time to start some sort of central
posting for GTS's for sale. Seems that a lot more are turning up.

I just ordered a brake bleeder that can best be described as a speed
bleeder that works in the opposite direction. Instead of screwing it into
the bike, you attach it with a short hose to the regular bleeder nipple,
bleed, and go on to the next brake. This way you only need one bleeder for

Sorry guys, this is not GTS, but GPS. I know some of you know the answer to
this. I want to make some contour maps by getting xyz coordinates from
stakes I would put on a piece of property. I know that absolute accuracy of
civilian handheld GPS's is very low for this use. How about

I'll mix it up a bit by saying the contact patch should be about the same
for a given tire pressure. More related to tire pressure than tire
profile.
