In case this hasn't been covered before one of the most impressively easy
ways to combat this is to have a hidden form field on the registration
form, this field MUST remain blank for the form to be accepted, most spam
bots will auto fill this in yet humans will not even see it - should knock

Hi Guys,
Just thought I would remind people that tonight (thursday) is our
next hackspace meeting, drag yourself and a friend along for some
social interaction and some fun hacking, as normal expect a bunch of
raspberry pis, 3d printers and some other gadget (bring yours to show
and tell too!)
we
as others have said try it you might just like it...
as for "locked down desktop" LOL we at work have yet to see a well
locked down citrix environment, infact it has become a bit of a joke
contest to see who can "break out" of the citrix environment the
fastest, i believe the current record is ~3
We have a ton of awesome stuff planned for tonight's meeting..
we have at least 5 raspberry pi's to be played with along with
demonstrations and how-tos
we also have 3d printers and examples of how these are going to change
your life forever!
There will also be other interesting things going on a
I have one too... had it for some time and still not even opened the
box... i should do that just to check it works
I also brought the premade SD card - i guess i need to back that up too..

some guys at surrey lug got some of these when they first came out,
the first batch out the block overheated and broke, the second batch
had an upgraded internal fan but sounded like a hoover and was on
constantly!
I had forgotten totally about these and now pondering getting one for
hotels etc..
i can not recommend the Qnap Ts-412 NAS enough...
small, takes 4 drives (i currently have 4x2TBs) with green drives its
almost silent and powers down and uses very little energy
its got a linux base and has ssh access and oodles of functions and services
and its bloody cheap too!

there will be space to work on projects electrical/mechanical/other as
well as like minded people around to help and to
Guys and girls,
I am glad there is alot of interest in this - so to some of the
questions raised.
£20/month was an out of the air figure just used and is NOT indicative
of the actual cost
it WILL require some individuals to pay over the odds just to set this
up, but i am sure we can do it!

Sorry for the cross post but im lazy... (talk to my lawyer if you have
a problem!)
Anyway a few of us folks are looking at a possibility of a Hackspace
based in aldershot - working on the basis that membership would be
about £20/month to start with
how many people would be genuinely up for joining
you have clearance Clarance!

I hate all printers - they are the only piece of technology that has
not gotten significantly better in 5 years - however I recently HAD to
buy a printer and was shocked at how easy the Kodak ESP 7250 was to
get workign in linux - it literally was 30 seconds - I was gobsmacked.
