Re the failing receivers, most of the time now,
receivers are assembled on automatic lines and
are cheaper to replace than repair.

very slow and deep fades. The stations are on 155 and 173 kc.
The 155 kc (or kHz as we say in the electronics biz) station is actually
595 DBC Dominica now on 590. This used to be commonly
heard in the US, but no more. I have local WEZE on 590
plus frequently-strong skip from VOCM, CKRS, and WARM.
If propagation is good to the south, Venezuela and Cuba
are noted on 590.
