Some of the WorldVistA team were in

A mesh network might work very well in a disaster.
It would require enough nodes to cover the area of interest given the
range of the wireless technology.

Dave is correct, of course.
My post above is incorrect. To have locations show up in CPRS, the
entries go into the HOSPITAL LOCATION file.

VistA technically does NOT have a Clinic file.
What it has is a HOSPITAL LOCATION file (#44).
There is a field named TYPE (#2) which has values:
'C' FOR CLINIC;
'M' FOR MODULE;
'W' FOR WARD;
'Z' FOR OTHER LOCATION;
'N' FOR NON-CLINIC STOP;
'F' FOR FILE AREA;
'I' FOR IMAG

Baskhar,
Your original post is what allerted me to this product potential. That
coupled with its network/power suppot is what makes this product
interesting. Notice "wind-up" power. When I saw Negroponte discuss this on
MSNBC he mention a crank for power.

Mike - we did the same point by point with VistA and the BPHC grid.
Vista was better than 97% compliant, as I recall, and a number of the
non-compliant items were optional.

Look at the RPC code entry for your XUS AV Code. As I have been
looking the RPC entries lately, I notice that some entries have
specific codes or security features. There may more that needs to be
done than simply add it to the XUS SIGNON option

it is easy enough to be able to use null subscripts (see

my understanding is that the VistA database schema rules are that null

It worked! I did have the client agent, but had not enabled the DEFAULT AUTO
