Is there any way to stop people from using OE? That's the real question.

running vista business on my server, vista is not ready for prime time.
backward compatibility sucks.
Vista says it will not allow bad code to run is why but in the same sentence
says when vista sp1 comes out it will change the whole kernel, must be bad
code. :-}
That said has some nice

Is it possible to use two NICs in XP to connect simultaneously to two networks?

After using Vista at home for 3 months, I hate having to use XP at work. I
like the new interface, the usability tweaks are great, and it just -looks-
like a modern operating system again. On my hardware, Vista feels more
responsive, too.
That's not to say there aren't problems...VPN

Why they had to change the entire interface and
rename all the control panel applets is beyond me. Arrogance, I
would guess. Or total lack of interest in their customers.
Call it change for the sake of change... The car manufacturers used
to do that... I don't know

None of which improves the car's performance. (to any significant degree)
For my taste,
I'm no network guru but isn't that bridging ?

Three different systems:
X2 4800 with 4GB PC3200, 6600GT
Core 2 Duo 3.2GHz with 4GB PC8500, 7900GS
Core 2 Duo 3.6GHz with 4GB PC7200, X1900XT
On all three, Vista felt very responsive...possibly even more than XP did.

I think if you have a premium graphics card, Vista is able to take more
advantage of it than XP.

I don't think so, bridging is where you relay networks. For example
you bridge one wireless router to another in order to extend your range.

shortly.

I wouldn't count on the driver issues being resolved any time

No, i think the reason is much more sinister than that, Thane. MS just
wants to control the mind space of people for another five years. They
can't do that with just a simple update to XP. They need something that
looks and feels different, so that people can have something to spend
time and
$5000+ system?
Heck, I have a $899 HP laptop on which Vista really flies!
It has the Core 2 Duo T5200 processor with 1 GB RAM.

I've done both of those setups successfully, on XP and Server 2003. I
currently have a Server 2003 and a Vista machine set up on two networks as
in your first example...one WAN and one LAN.

I just checked out GnuCash and it looks pretty sweet. It will both
