[Histonet] Renal biopsies and muscle biopsies

2012-10-22 Thread Vickroy, Jim
I have been at the same hospital for over 34 years. I have seen pathologists come and go, and have seen changes in services like everyone has, some good and some bad. Since workflow changes demands that we do more with less, we are evaluating some of the extra things we do to see if some of

Hello all, I am in need of some help with a spirochete protocol for the Leica Bond.  I am using a Biocare primary antibody.  I've tried ER1 for 20 min. with 15 min. Ab with no luck.  Does anyone do this, and do you think increasing the primary Ab time would help?  I've used this same Ab before

In our hospital, the radiology techs are responsible for bringing the renal biopsies up to the department (in saline) as soon as the procedure is obtained. They show the specimen to the attending pathologist, who signs off on the radiology record as sufficient. Then the histotechs divide the

Hi Sheila, We also use the Leica Bond using the Biocare antibody. We have had success using the RED detection kit for the spirochete with this protocol: HIER 1 (6.0) for 20 minutes and 30 minutes in the antibody. hopes this helps, Lynette From:

James, At our institution the techs do not go to kidney or muscle bx. The resident will deliver the fresh specimen to either directly to our lab or to grossing. Hospitals send them in fixative and transport media that we provide to them. My feeling is that if the techs are not there to check

[Histonet] question about amplification kit from Ventana

Hi! Can anyone tell me, if the amplification kit of Ventana also works on IgM antibodies. The specification sheet isn't very clear and I must admit, that I just don't know, if the fc of the IgG and IgM of one species is the same. In other words, if the anti-IgG in the amplifier also binds to

I think you normally use ATPase at different pH's, which is an enzyme stain, to differentiate muscle fibers. At pH 10.2 it would stain Type I fibers light and then Type II Fibers dark (all types IIa, IIb and IIc) the other pH's stratify out the type II fibers. Liz Elizabeth A. Chlipala, BS,
