Hi Everyone,
I'm curious about different PMS2 antibodies and staining protocols for the
Leica Bond III Autostainer. I'd appreciate any feedback from individuals
performing this stain on this platform, including antibody clones and staining
protocols.
Thanks in advance!
Roger
Hi Everyone,
I'm curious about what time everyone stops accessioning specimens for the day.
We receive specimens pretty late in the day, and we're evaluating our
accessioning cut-off times to improve the TAT of these late specimens. We're
focused more on biopsies, but we're also curious about

I am putting together a list of facilities that have discontinued the use of
negative reagent controls for IHC. After the CAP revised the requirement
related to negative controls when polymer-based detection systems are used, we
decided to investigate whether discontinuing the negative controls

identified?
I think that you should tally this artifact frequency and intensity
against months of the year and referring dermatologists. You may even
end with enough information to write something about this artifact after
all.

We are experiencing a staining artefact on our HE's, most commonly seen on
skin specimens, but also observed on other specimen types as well.
Within the dermis and subcutaneous regions of the skin specimens, there are
portions of what should be collagen that appear homogenized and stained
run, or something like a rapid run?

Hi Histonetters:
When a pathologist identifies extraneous tissue on a slide, and histology
determines that the tissue contamination originates from embedding, what is
your procedure for correcting the embedding? Do you remove the extraneous (or
contamination) tissue from the block, recut the
We have been using tissues from an old autopsy case as our adenovirus IHC

We use Ventana's HP antibody, and we do see some of the small, non-specific
globs of stain, but the pathologists are comfortable differentiating between
the true and false staining since they are familiar with this artefact.

because we're billing for three, but at least it sounds like we can bill for
two, which seems logical.
Have others heard something different?

Our lab currently bills for three, and I know of other labs in our area that
also bill for three. I have heard rumors that this may not be allowed in the
near future.

Are there antibodies that you were not able to run on the Bond III?
Is the machine reliable, or does it break down often, requiring technical

How arduous is cleaning and managing the cover tiles?
Are the three black slide drawers durable?

We've seen this problem before in our lab, and it was traced back to the mold
release, just as Sheila said.
