Thanks, I am running fps_max 0 and the server is at 500fps right now. I'm
not sure my box will run HPET for 1000fps, so I've just gotta get to the
bios and check it out.

Try fps_max 0. Compare the CPU usage between boosted 1 FPS and boosted
1000FPS. It will be the same. So might as well use 0 (which is uncapped).

Srdsfpsboost was the answer to my prayers. The server is now running 500fps
on Windows 7. Thanks for all the great help here, you gu

Or run Windows Media player (the visualization MUST BE ON AND VISIBLE ON THE

Like I said, I tried that and using the basic convars it wasn't kicking over
the standard 80fps.
I would prefer not to use outside apps to do this; has anyone successfully
run high fps servers on Win7 without using 3rd party tools?

Windows 7 does 1K fps. You can run media player in the background if you
don't wanna use one of the other apps.

So now that Ive got the TF2 DS server up, it looks like the normal high FPS
tricks used in source games arent working.
Im only able to achieve the 80fps max default setting. Id like to run
500fps. I have WMP open and +fps_max 600 in my command line.
If I run sv_lan 1 the fps goes to
And as I have said before - I have the right to think that, so I will keep on
doing so.
You've made your point. I don't buy it. I will continue to not buy it, because
I don't subscribe to your point of view any more than you subscribe to mine.
There is nothing that anyone can say or do that w
You just did :)

Yeah, I may actually replace all my little home-based switches and get one
decent managed switch and just do 1Q myself.
