Why not just set the affinity yourself? It just requires the 3 finger salute
and 4 clicks.

So I'm putting a new machine together to replace an older one that is
quite aged. The plan is to run 2 boosted 100 tick 12 or 13 man
private servers, one on each core. I'd have to upgrade the motherboard
and ram as well.
I'm just curious if there is much importance as to what kind of chip I
get?
A little info about my Windows servers:
1 dual core w/ a server on each core (pubs)
1 single core w/ a server on it (private)
Two run mani and a couple other mods (pubs)
One runs zblock 2.01 (private)
I have my 3 servers boosted to 600 FPS which before the recent update,
stayed very steady at 51
I'd wet myself if it was the rumored sourceTV fix/upgrade.

The hlstatsx vac banlist is probably what you are referring to:
http://www.hlstatsx.com/vacbans
These are people who attempted to join a server which has hlstatsx
installed who have a banned vac account.

I've never ran an Intel/HT server, but I know if I don't specify the

If you haven't already, seperate your servers onto different "CPUs."

Dan, you obviously don't play CS:S competitively. All the problems
that Whipser mentioned have a HUGE impact on the competitive CS:S
community, and this is why teams are sticking with 1.6. Once (or if
ever) the good 1.6 teams switch over, so will the majority of players.

With my 4200+ dual core and 1 GB ram, I run:
-1 32 player CS:S pub @ 66 tick on one core
-1 20 player CS:S pub @ 100 tick on the other core
While the 20 player pub has never been maxed out, it seems like it'll
handle it just fine. If you're running this in Windows, you MUST

Funny how an email regarding a player who's connection distrupts the
entire server turns into a valve bashing party. Please stop hijacking
innocent threads with this crap. This list sometimes annoys me.

At the beginnning of a CS:S scrim last night on my own server, 9 of
the 10 players' pings jumped up to around 350. The remaining player
stayed around 15-20. Immediately after he dropped, all of our pings
fell back to what we were pinging before the occurance. About 1 or 2
rounds in to him rejoin
Yes, someone kick the servers... 1 of my 3 servers have updated. The
other 2 are just sitting there like lame ducks.

Yes, I have to restart my servers 5-6 times before they finally
initialize VAC properly. On top of that, it takes 10-15 seconds for
it to say whether VAC is enabled or disabled, so people are trying to
join the server but they get kicked when I have to try again.
Oh, and then the other great bug
Once one of my Source servers exhibit this issue, I have to restart
the computer for it to register steam IDs again. Restarting the
server application does not do the trick.
So no, it's not just hl1 based games.

192.168.1.85 is only an internal IP that is routable in your private
network. No other computers outside of you network will be able to
connect that IP, ever. You need to determine the IP that your ISP
assigned to you by going to:
It also prevents mods from granting admin rights properly, which
forces everyone to use standard rcon commands.

I run 2 servers off of 1 dual core AMD 4200+ in Windows XP:
32 player 66 tick
12 player 100 tick
After startup, I would typically set the affinity so that each were
assigned to their own core. However if I forgot this step, I didn't
notice any issues until this latest update.
Now if I don't ass
No, it's a bug within CS:S, not one of the mods. How do people find
these things?

A couple quick questions before I upgrade to an AMD Dual Core processor...
Would an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ with 1 gig of ram be able to handle
the following set up?
-Windows XP (no money for 2003 server)
-1 32 player CS:S pub @ 66 tickrate
-1 12 player CS:S pub @ 100 tickrate
-psychostats process
No, it did it for me when I was using Beetlesmod as well. I've read
in the Steampowered forums that it's more of a problem with servers
that have more players. So a 32 player server is going to exhibit
this behavior more often than a 24 player server.
Mani isn't to blame about everything.

Both CAL and TWL require a 180 second delay for SourceTV with the
following command:
tv_delay 180
However, when I execute my SourceTV .cfg (which includes this
command), restart the map, and type:
rcon tv_status
it reveals that there is only a 90 second delay. After some testing, I
figured out
PLEASE roll this update back. It is causing all kinds of server and
client problems.
Just delay DoD:S if you have to. What it's doing to servers and
clients is inexcusable.

I had something similar happen to me once but mani was not involved.
Someone who had just connected to the server (not even in the game
yet) managed to hack the quite complex rcon password and start
spamming dozens of lines of "hahahahahahaha" as console chat all
within one second. When I noticed

I read somewhere that they originally thought it would be mostly a

gets results, it bans automatically.
Also, there are replacement skins out there that cause player models to

VAC2 has been live for CSS for a week or so. There are a ton of threads
about it at the steampowered forums. Remove -vacbeta because it's not
necessary.

My server's CPU usage doubled which forced me to make some changes to keep
it playable... All players were experiencing terrible lag and choke.
I was running a 32 player server with a 66 tickrate. All other rate limits
