Subject: RE: [hlds] Amuck, amuck, amuck
Its more of a general question about who is admin on given servers.
Is there a list someplace? I am admin on my server, FOR EXAMPLE
Does anyone know who the real admin is at .boink|PUB SERVER 24/7
dust/d2/inferno (24.126.65.221)?
I have been playing on this server for months now and tonight I was
banned. Seemed fairly arbitrary.
I have not given anyone admin on my server for this reason; kids acting
up...
Thanks,
Chorizo
Wow, absoultley no one replied to this. I know I am not the only person
left hosting this type of server.
BTW, I found the missing piece to get my server's FPS rate higher:
sys_ticrate

On my CS HLDS box I make changes to my server.cfg and then input exec
server.cfg to reload the new values. Is it not possible to do the same
in the game client?

I have a (mostly irrelavent) question about one of the other games I
serve on my HLDS box. The other game I serve is AVP2PH and I was
wondering if anyone else is (stupid enough to) serve this game on the
same box they are serving HLDS?
The reason I ask is the AVP2PH server has well known
OK, has anyone figured out casual configurations or software which
produce the cracked server?

While its only a work around, this does work when placed at the end of
the server.cfg:

Does anyone know why they limit the size of the server welcome page
(motd.txt) to 1.5K? This really puts a creative damper on the whole
greeting.
My in-game welcome page is a scaled down version of the link below.
Thanks,

small, extremely low latency events, not large text files). Rather than
putting the html document in the MOTD itself just put a HTTP URL in the
file (and nothing else) and the client will load that.

My son was playing OP and another player was able change my son's name
at will. Has anyone heard of this? If so, does anyone know of a
defense?
I have not had any complaints from visitors to my CS server about this
type of behavior.
Although, I did get visited by the same problem mentioned by

Is it possible you have a security breech and someone/process is
altering the files? You can verify the files are changing by taking a
snapshot of their MD5 signatures after a fresh download. As soon as you
get the error, run the snapshot again and see if the files have actually
changed.

the command line as -tickrate 100 What do you mean the gravity only
lasts one round?

How can I verify my tickrate?
Why does sv_gravity only last one round?
I have the following set in my server.cfg file:
allow_spectators 1
fps_max 600
mp_allowmonsters 1
mp_autokick 1
Ah, not to interrupt a good cat fight; it this is a good one...

Is it possible your ISP does not allow you to serve ports? I know I pay
for a SOHO package to be able to server ports.
