With forums, you have to go look at them. Mail lists are more passive -
the messages come to you. Personally, I prefer mail lists.

Yes, I forgot that. I fell in love with the AK recoil in beta 7.1 (and
how controlled it was in my hands). :)

I typically don't have much trouble getting CS updates when they
come out. My download software is particularly abusive, and
manages to break through to one or two mirrors after not too long
of a delay. However, I don't expect (Nor do I wish for) the
people on my server to obtain obtates like that.

This is how Natural Selection is currently running. Clients all have
version 1.0 while the servers have either 1.03 or 1.04 BETA. I don't think
the clients have to download anything new, AFIAK.

Thats because MOST people like waiting for webpages to load. Forums get
very hard to keep up with, I find. Go away for a week
Just for people's information, I did setup a hlds_linux list serve (and hlds
one too) area on my forum a while ago. If anyone would like to know the url
I'd only be too happy to pass it on.

Hey all,
I wonder what the influence on the CPU is when the CS-Server is running in
insecure mode.
We have rather a slow machine (P3 dual 1ghz, 2gb sdram), is there a way to get less
cpu usage from each hlds process?
Greets,
