Yep, it's Cheating Death 4.3.0! Had exactly the same problem. BTW: Also had problems with 4.2.0 crashing too. Currently I am using the most stable 4.1.0, even though this creates phantom double processes of hlds_run. A very disappointed ... Tony -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

yes it's hlsw causing _a lot_ of lag because all your logs are transmited live to a remote box. i use this for irc-bots.. but only in competition, with only 1 hlds running on that machine. it's very cpu consuming. change the rcon_pass or block the ports. mike On Thu, Sep 04, 2003 at

I think that I just caught the end of this one ... What does HLSW do on ports 7130-7135? (dest or source ports from the point of view of an incoming packet to the server - I guess dest but worth checking?) Thanks, Tony -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

1000Mhz option will actually increase the cpu usage and not decrease it. Also pingboost 1 on some systems causes more cpus on others it doesn't. On my freebsd system I saw cpu usage drop with -pingboost 1 and increase on my readhat. Jeremy ___ To

Yes but my understanding was that 1000MHZ is better way to do the same thing as ping boost. The idea is to get pings down I still have some CPU left, we were running at 80% CPU last night with 32 players and pings are better then they were with pingboost before the re-compile. - Jeff -
