Hi
After the last update I got the following message on my CS:S Server:

Your server needs to be restarted in order to receive the latest update.
This message just came after the first mapchange. I get this only on
one of my servers. The only different is that src-tv is enabl
still says it's beta here on my source server, it's just on by default
now, that's all.

My server is running at tick rate 33, no max rate or min rate, and has 64
player slots. It runs Debian Linux, on a P4 3.6GHz with 1GB of RAM - it
doesn't run *anything* other than srcds (and sshd, obviously).
Since the update, I have observed almost *twice* the bandwidth being
received in clients

Another note: The server triggered a rate cap, it is sending in 20,000
to out 80,000 but with very low bandwidth usage.

Problem confirmed, 6 servers, all the same issues, tickrate 100. HLDS
seems to be having the same issue, however not as often, where the FPS
drops down once every 2 - 3 minutes to 70-100 FPS, This hasn't occured
before VAC2 Beta. I am more concerned about the FPS drops than the CPU
usage really, be
im having problems with this also im only running 50 % fps but users are
getting 30-40 fps with about 20 people on the server which is crap I would
like to see it max out my servers cpu or near it and get them higher fps I
have the highest preferences to make it use more cpu also
sv_minrate 35
This fixed my problem.
I removed '-tickrate 66' from my start-parameters, and only reaches 35%
maximum with full 16 players
With '-tickrate 66' it hit´s 80%~98%...

Check what ldd amx_mm_i586.so tells you. I guess it's a missing library
(AMX requires the old libstdc++). If it is complaining about a missing
libstdc++.so.5 try installing the c++ compat packages.

If you have this problem then remove any custom tickrate or netrate settings
and verify if you still have it. This release did fix some rounding bugs in the
cmd update rate so the update value should now match the setting (before it was
off by 1 or 2 packets), perhaps your server config have now
We have had a similar issue with newest Fedora Core 3 kernel and AMX, it
causes servers to restart continually. As AMX is pretty old now, I havnt
spent any time trying to fix and advised customers to move upto AMXX as
there 1.01 version works and seems stable.

You're running a CS 1.6 server, right? VAC2 is still beta on HLDS
servers. It's only in production on Source servers right now.

I have a server that was running on RedHat ES 3.0 which I recently upgraded the
OS to RedHat AS 4.0. Since the OS upgrade my AMX stopped worked and is giving a
bad load. Any ideas?? I reinstalled AMX 0.99 but I am still getting the error.

I've not seen this at all.
I run 16 player servers, dual P3 1000, tickrate 33(default?), manimod.
Maybe some more info is required, like if your running any mods and how
many players your running.

Greetings,
ManiMod is really is the best, i ihink.
MetaMod and HLstatsX is also very important.
And you can customize WebMod.
What is a better WebConfig-Tool?

Sounds like the whole 3.1.1.1c to d thing all over
again. I hope this time we dont just have to accept
and there is a reason for the cpu usage jump that can
be fixed :(

Hi list!
I finally got my Source:CS server running and performing ok. So now it's
almost time to make it publicly available. Before that I would like to
AMXmod like functionality. What is currently the best mod? Performance is
more important than functionality.
I've heard about beetlemod an mani

Same here.
High FPS drops, more CPU usage, and we also have more unstable ping - example:

ping 20ms to 40ms in short periods - server is not busy.

Yup same here, people complaining of extra choke. Also when monitoring
via stats, fps drops from 500 fairly steady to ~50 fairly often which
could be related. CPU usage looks higher on average, but don't have
any specific figures as wasn't really watching that close before.
