Thank you both for your work!
So, is it correct to assume that all the early symphonies by Haydn is using
the high (alto) horns?
(Seems to fit to the "sparkling" Haydn sound.)
When we're talking about high horn parts in Haydn's music, it's wise to
invlude the symph. no. 51. Really cool.

Dear List
I am in desperate need of more responses! I think that I will now open the
survey to include anyone. No matter how much you practice please contact me
privately or on-list as soon as is possible and give me a rough estimation
of how many hours you practice on a weekly basis, if it isn
Point(s) well taken, Hans, but good Lord! He just needs some numbers! Give
the guy a break! (By the way, I try to get in two hours a day but I'm only in
high school so my response probably isn't overly valuable)

Dear List,
I am testing my hypothesis that I can get my homework turned in (ha ha). The
assignment is to take a sample space of fifty (in my case, horn players) the
example was to take 50 small bags of M&Ms and count the number of a certain
color in each bag. Or, we could poll a group of fifty

I was in the middle of an orchestra sectional for the brass (we're
playing the Berlioz Hungarian March) and the coach asks me to buzz my part

Dear List,
If there is a player at any level out there who has not responded, please do
so! Right now I am about ten players short of fifty, which is the minimum

I spent some time with a physical therapist recently and found that during
the poking a prodding was a lot more uncomfortable than I realized. I had
bitten really hard on my upper lip. When I tried horn playing again, I'd
lost a lot of range from 2nd line A on up. It's slowly coming back, but I'
