I had a simular problem with the third valve slide on the Bb side of my
Conn 8D.
I purchased it from a pawn shop about fifteen years ago for a song and
a dance.
Valve slides were sticking, a string was broken, and the cosmetic
condition was
terrible. At that time I didn't what Conn 8D Constel

Several years ago there was a lull and the subject of giving their horns
a name. Several replies revealed the names of three or four horns.
I wonder what names have been given that are most appropriate, or

To remove the rim from the MP, try the method I use to remove metal parts
that have been put together with a shrink fit or otherwise too tight
to loosen normally.
Place the stem of the MP in ice water until it will cool no more.
Remove, turn the assembly upside down and dip ONLY the rim in very ho

showing the nomenclature of the horn.
I have seen a few showing only the parts a beginner would need to know,
never one showing the parts of the bell or the valves or slides or
joints or the mouthpiece etc.
