HI Hotties,
The HOT community hosted three community calls this week to talk about the
Executive Director Transition and timing. The following is a summary and
some actions. Harry, Russell and Heather facilitated these meetings. Notes
and audio clips can be below.

Harry I loved your idea of putting the conflicts into a simple post that
can be updated/changed without fear of mucking up the election wiki page.
If anyone identifies other conflicts that I haven't noticed please feel
free to point them out.
As promised I've written my conflicts up.

Kate - you're probably correct, we are using the person you referred us to,

Hi Russel and all
Thanks for you and Harry in facilitating the meetings and putting up
minutes,
Thanks to all who participated in.
It was not possible for me to attend any of the first two CommunityCalls
(CC.
I put up some notes about them in order to prepare the next #3 Call.

Nico,
There is no precedent for HOT board members resigning to ensure the
neutrality of HOT.
I resigned from the HOT board to ensure that HOT could remain a "vendor" at

Dear All,
Can we again discuss putting geological data into OSM? Specifically, I'd
like a recommended way to tag fault lines and surface geology polygons.
This e-mail assumes the reader knows nothing of geology, apologies to
everyone else.

Hi Martijn,
HOT has a conflict of interest policy prepared by I believe the same legal
expert. It was required to apply for 501(c)(3) status and signed by the
board at the time.
On the road so can't look it up at the moment.

Please note, HOT does have established Conflict of Interest policies in place.
These were first approved by the Board in 2012 as part of the 501(3)c process,
and discussed and reviewed most recently last year. These documents are
viewable at

Thanks for this Martjin: this would be most helpful in that context on top
of the practices within HOT US.

The OSM US board has just agreed on a COI policy that was prepared by a
legal expert. I can see if I can get you a copy if that would help?

Hi Maning, Zacharia, Althio, Russ, Robert and the Rest of the HOT Community

Hi Dale

hi Sev,
I've seen that you've put your statement forward - as a voting member it's
much appreciated. I've got some questions, but don't have the time to type
them out right now. I wasn't trying to stigmatize anyone, but was simply
asking those that hadn't written their views to try and do so. Of c
Hi Joseph,
I did plan to present my views as a candidate for the board and I did it,
and I am sure everyone else has been working on this. The extension allows
us to strengthen our texts. Publishing early is your own decision and is
not a rule and I do not see the benefit to stigmatize other candi

In addition to the comments from Althio, Maning and others (which are
