please mention in task #1002 that Bing/Mapbox imagery has huge distortions in
the area around Manaslu Himal. The best way of mapping in this area is to use a
mixture of Bing, Mapbox and Landsat imagery, GPS traces and to use SRTM data to
check if riverbanks fit the topography.

I would imagine there's no post-quake imagery available yet, but are there
any plans for HOT to do damage assessment? We're in a much better position
to know our shortcomings and strengths in this area following the Red Cross
report on the Haiyan response.

The imagery is about 5 meters out of alignment, but it is consistent.
Was the area mapped earlier using different imagery? I'm using iD.
Does that make a difference? Should I just ignore the misalignment in

GNS place names (811 in nepal) into OSM. There are also tasks on the

you download in ESRI Shapefiles (SHP) format. Then you can save the layer
using save as function in QGIS to any other formats you need (in
Andrew as of this week there is a new version available for iOS. I updated the
wiki page to reflect this info. This first version do not include all the
Android features.
OSMand support confirmed that the same obf vector format is compatible for both
Android and iOS.

I think at the moment we are mapping from pre earthquake images. Others
will be more familiar with the problems that face the logistic side on
which roads are blocked and which airfields are usable. Since I understand
the area is fairly hilly water might not be a good option for moving things.
