Hi Steve,
I see; the 600 task is in fact also already 6 months old and 608 for
example is already OK. I was confused because the 600 was -edited- not
-created- 12 days ago. Still, it's on the front page, so maybe someone with
editing rights could give it a quick fix.
Thanks Henning, that seems to be a correct analysis.
The changeset comment on new tasks at tasks.teachosm.org still suggests
"#hotosm-task-600" for a task created 12 days ago. That's wrong and
confusing. I would guess the Tasking Manager has "#hotosm-task-[task ID]"
as a default; maybe that could
t to refer to
https://tasks.hotosm.org/project/502, but that's completely different.
Several of them do mention #missingmaps but not a task. Also, there's a lot
of duplicate buildings around there.

It took me a long time to accept mailing lists as the main communication
tool for OSM related stuff. But I did find a way to cope with being
subscribed to many (many!) osm mailing lists.
In any mail application it should be possible to devise automatic rules to
preclassify mails. I have a rule

Hi Janet,
I believe the a/v team did the best they could with the data they
collected. Cc'ing Rob just in case.
If someone can get me a fixed version, I do have access to the YouTube

That shouldn't be necessary though.
When you set up a task in the tasking manager, there is a tab to set the
background imagery. Doing this ensures the custom imagery is loaded as
default in ID. I don't know who managed the task, but they should be
informed that this is a really useful thing to
Hi,
Of course good research goes way beyond basic statistics. But basic
statistics have their value too.
* You can get some nice stats for a custom area with this tool:

* Missing maps has some road length statistics by country:

So I think we can call this a success. In the end we had over 230
registrations. They kept coming in as we got on the national (Flemish)
radio in the earl morning. We mapped the entire planned task by somewhere
around noon (that's tasks 1776, 1777 and 1779).
And then we had time to just quickly

Hi,
We changed plans quite last minute, because of the crisis on the Idjwi
island, South Kivu. An outbreak of measles means MSF will go there very
soon for a vaccination campaign. They need buildings data to plan their
intervention.
We will be mapping buildings -only- , roads will be mapped in a
Is this thing case sensitive?
There are no statistics about task 1775, and I see it suggesting #MissingMaps
as opposed to #missingmaps as a changeset comment. If that's the case, we
should really keep an eye on these comments!
Example:
Hi John,
The task is basically identical to the other Swaziland tasks (check e.g.
1576). Focus is mapping all buildings.
So major challenges will probably be having straight corners and not having
area=yes only polygons.

I somehow missed looking at the main building wiki page, focusing on the
subarticles. As Blake rightly pointed out at the tagging list:
"In addition outlines can either be simplified shapes or very detailed
outlines which conform accurately to the shape of the building. It is not
