Hi Listers,
Our system is z/os 1.6 with current maintenance.
I'm struggling with a problem I'm hoping to fix before this weekend. I

Hi all,
I'm setting up the z9 hardware crypto express 2 coprocessors for the
first time. I was able to get 1 coprocessor online to our TEST lpar and
everything looks good there. We don't expect to use it there so I
unchecked everything on the crypto tab on the test image activation
profile.
Dave,
The crypto-stuff is lots of fun.
I am going to ask you some questions... the answers will help
you lay-out your system.
1. Are you going to have any crypto co-processors online to TEST?
2. Are you going to share any crypto co-processors between
TEST and PROD?
3. Is the

Hello,
A user asked if it's possible to remove or correctly translate what appears to

The current procedure is to open it Wordpad first and click save, then do the
transfer. My research turned up a unix command

I discovered that unix command iconv will do what I want. I transferred the

The resulting file was properly formatted and stripped of the CRLF characters.

John,
Thank you for the explanation. We are receiving these text files from a

In our case, it seemed to be a 3480 vary timeout that
affected our OSA. Our OSA is an OSA-Express FENET running
SNA only on z/OS 1.4. We've had this happen twice now, and
each time it sets the XCA PU's IINOP. So far, IBM refuses to
believe that the errors are related.

I do not believe that the MAXSPACE is related to 'dropping the OSA
channels', at least not directly. What probably happens is a
long time of
system-wide non-dispatchability in extremely short succession
that causes
some sort of timeout to be reached on this or another system.
