AFAIK ANYNET is no longer supported.
This is one of those points that is very easy to discover from the on-line
manuals - just as the original question was, come to think of it - and, more
recently a probably for which the exact opposite is a certainty. I may find
sufficient energy

... is anynet incorporated into z/os vtam like enterprise extender is?
Two of the AnyNet components, SNA over IP[1] and Sockets over SNA,
*used* to be incorporated into VTAM (the Communications Server SNA
Hello all, is anynet incorporated into z/os vtam like enterprise
extender is? Or is there any way to communicate with an SNA
Gateway(Communications Server) from z/os 1.7 using the enterprise
extender functions?
Thanks.

Yes, I suspected that this peculiar TCP62 implementation could have distorted
your vision of AnyNet SNA over IP.
It would appear that TCP62 behaves as a LEN node with just one single logical
link end-point implemented as the TCP (and UDP) sockets program following
AnyNet SNA over IP

While true, there isn't much need for it, either.
You're using the wrong tense; try was for is. In the days when AnyNet
Sockets over SNA was created, the mid-90s, there was an golden opportunity
not to scrap SNA network infrastructure in favour of IP network infrastructure
but simply
that on this list (and others).

Actually, I didn't have any education (or training) on AnyNet. I just
picked up some manuals and started cobbling together something
that would allow a CICS to talk

Is there any replacement function for Anynet SNA over TCPIP.
Jim Wangler's response was incorrect only in the last character. There is no
need for a question mark. Enterprise Extender is the excuse to remove the
AnyNet SNA over IP function. Regrettably there is no replacement

While true, there isn't much need for it, either. It's rare to find 2
devices with SNA connectivity that don't have IP
When configuring z/OS 1.9 I find that the VBUILD TYPE=TCP vtam definition
no longer exists. Is there any replacement function for Anynet SNA over
TCPIP.
