Hallo All,
It has been a long while since I downloaded a PDS from the MAINFRAME to my PC.
I am having a bit of difficulty having them downloaded with a .txt extension.
I did the following :
ftp-1
open (ip address)
supplied userid and password
LCD U:\FTP
CD 'NGL02D.UTIL.JCL'
mget * *.txt

pList(tm) - try it; you'll get it!

Unfortunately, mget doesn't work like that... you can specify multiple
filenames and use the file* .. but cannot change the name on the mget. I
have to agree with the other poster about using XMI for the whole PDS.

I have a client that uses Simplist ... it is pretty cool... especially
driving everything from ISPF.

don't know what you're trying to do with it, but for transport purposes, I run
a utility on the mainframe to make a flatfile then xmit as text. no corruption
when sent back to the mainframe if receiving file is pre-allocated with correct
LRECL & RECFM. IEBUPDTE (or is it IEBCOPY?) or SAS Proc

I don't know who your client is but I'm glad they like the file transfer
feature. The ability to easily transfer files by selecting them from any
regular membe

Native windows binaries won't run on Linux. The IBM WSA might run under
the WINE environment though. I've never tried it however.

them in several other places so why not there? I worked around it by

I miss SimpList. In my last shop I got a lot of use out of its file
