Hans, I use Filezilla 2.2.32 on the PC with no problems.
I have Fz V3.2, but like everyone else... the directory listing has
problems.
The most fun was getting the z/VM secure client talking to the z/OS
secure server and back the other way.

Hello,
I'm getting ready to order the PTFs for the enablement of
the z/VM 540 SSL server. Currently, I have 5.4 RSU 0801 installed
and running in test mode. Should I order a later RSU level too
and/or Updates for for CMS Service?
Thanks for your help,
Alyce

I just installed the SSL PTF. I first did the 5402RSU (0802) refresh from my
5.4 0801. I encountered no problems so far. I suggest you consider doing the
RSU service first.

The first character is being treated as carriage control. Use SITE CC OFF

I use EBCDIC when transferring from VM/CMS to VSE - not ASCII.

That points to a CRLF problem. As David suggests, try EBCDIC with MODE B
instead of ASCII. (I would have expected a single line
I tried that. Fisrt byte is still missing. :(
Sorry I missed what David said as I have just switched from digest.
maybe I need to clarify. The file ended up on CMS from the lst queue via
SENDFILE and was read in by a hot reader.
and that probably ate the first byte.

Suieiman -
I think you've found the problem. If you use RECEIVE without the
KEEPCC option you will loose the carriage control byte.

I don't get it - why do you find it an annoyance that IBM recommends using a
low port? I mean - I understand not having to alter TCPIP by using a port
1024 -- but do you think it's a bad idea to have TCPIP reserve the port
for PERFKIT?
