I don't see where we can override the logon user id, but the JOB option of
LPR can be used to specify a unique identifier for the printed file. Works
here for me. Help file says up to 99 characters are allowed.

Might be slightly off topic, but...
TPF is not designed to run at 100% utilization, as are other systems like
for example z/OS. TPF would likely choke before getting there.

Wouldn't you most likely need a VPN connection to the cell phone?
It may work at work if the cell is connected to the work WIFI but most
everyone nowadays has fire walls to get thru.

Not trying to advertise our product here, but as far as D/R concerns, note
that the VSSI VTAPE does have Backup and Restore Utilities, and can work
with an open (in-use) library.

once there weren't anymore tapes to hang (round or square). There were still
a few tape drives around just in case, but if we Sys Progs ever needed any
tape mounts we had to go out on the floor and do it ourselves. It's a new
world.

Problem is that VM courses, especially online, are virtually nonexistent

I worked in that arena for a number of years and I am not aware of anyone
ever hosting a list server for TPF. Best bet has always been personal
contacts established at conferences via the user group http://www.tpfug.org/
or of course there is also the IBM Lab.

Ah, okay.
But surely you can find plenty of entry-level people to work for the $35K,
or actually even less. Just take it offshore to India. And a jolly good
job they'll do for you, too. Okay, that was MY sarcasm. Sorry. :)

Rick,
Thanks. Yes, I have looked at V/Soft's solution also. A minor
correction, their web site has a dash in the domain name:
