I pretty sure that for DRCT there is no Q ALLOC command option that looks at
the pages in use, it only looks at cylinders in use. Cylinders in use is
easily found by reading the Allocation byte map in cylinder 0: I'm not 100%
sure but x40 might stand for a free DCRT cylinder, while xC0 is a DRCT
c
mmands however. They must be QUERY ALLOC with MAP or DRCT, unless
there is another QUERY command.

DRCT area question
Over the past few days I've done a 'q alloc drct' the % use has changed
from
45% to 50% and now to 15%
The source directory became much smaller? More DRCT cylinders have been
allocated and now you IPLed? (if you dynamically add more DRCT cylinders, Q
ALLOC DRCT won't see them until after an IPL)
