I am trying to FTP a file that is Wnidoze ASCII to VM without having it translated to EBCDIC. In this case, the PC is the client and VM, the host. I have tried: * BIN - it gets translated * TYPE A - it gets translated * SITE AUTOTRANS OFF - I get a message saying that the SITE

You didn't mention what FTP client software you're using. Some make it easier than others, but as you know/suspect - a binary transfer is what you need. Perhaps the FTP client you are using is at fault. There are a number of FTP clients you could try, which a Google search will readily
