from my experience, I have never had a problem with my iMac G5 Rev A, but some of my friends who had Rev.A iMacs did have Power Supply problems, and sometimes it did make a noise, sometimes it didn't. Check inside your iMac to see if any of your capacitors aren't broken. Mystic Prowler

Also, I forgot to say: If your mac doesn't make the special sound when starting up, it means that you have to ZAP the PRAM, by doing this when starting up: COMMAND+OPTION+P+R. If that doesn't solve the problem, you are in deep trouble. If your Mac doesn't make the startup chime on startup, it
