The tree in my garden is of the so called "Kaghzi" variety which is so
named because the shell is so thin that it can be broken by a sharp blow .
"Kaghazi" means paper thin .This is a rather uncommon variety. As Saroj ji
has suggested this could be the reason for fruits being borne in pairs
On the walnut tree in my garden walnuts are borne in pairs.
It was interesting to find that on this tree they are borne as triplets.

There are not 7 but 15 flower like structures with red centers in
photoCLOSEUP 2.If each of these is a capitulum then it should qualify in
records as the smallest capitulum!

*Asperugo procumbens * has a trailing habit (only member of the family
which has a trailing habit in this region) and blue flowers. This herb
seems to be erect with pink flowers .

A very interesting feature of the evening primrose is that just as the sun
sets its flower buds open and become a fully developed flower in a few
seconds. Thus one can see with the unaided eye what can only be seen with
time lapse photography for other flowers!

Am indebted for his kind help in identifying R.patientia and V.. locusta
two difficult ID's both of which incidentally are well known herbs of
culinary importance in Europe but neglected in Kashmir.
