I just had the same issue happen to me. I'm setting up a cvs pserver on a Sun Sparc Ultra-4. Most of our development is done in local mode, so we usually don't have any problems. We're now trying out pserver mode (secure network) and we're getting these hanging processes. CVS version 1.11.1p1.

Hi Is there a way to unedit a file on behalf of some other user? We're using edit as soft locks on our binary files and as with any lock people tend to leave them dangling :-( So far I've edited the fileattr file in the repository to unedit a file, but its a hazzle, so if there's an easy way
