Can anyone explain me how to get latest STABLE release of some package
from CVS? Manual says that i have to use tags. But all examples in it
contain tag's name, such as

But what if i dont know this name? Can I find it somehow? Is there a

explanation of what I'm trying to do. Plus, documentation doesn't match up

We management our software baseline using CVS. The development process is
very standard but the deployment process is not. We normally have to make
numerous changes to our baseline to fit within the customers infrastructure.
The locations where we deploy our software do not have access to our CVS
to contain exactly A... so, reasonably one could expect the patch
to go through without a hitch (conflict) and produce a sandbox
with contents identical to B.
This is apparently not happenning in this instance, hence the

First, presumably the C means that file1 had a conflict
