I'm pretty excited to have dug out one of the Morse Code IDs during
the WSPO DX Test while transfering some of my cassette recordings to
.mp3 files to send to the DX Test Committee. Thought all I had
received were the sweep and staircase tones.
Patrick, speaking of WAGL, I remember hearing
WSPO DX Test heard extremely weakly under WCAT in Burlington, VT with
comedy program and under WEGP in Presque Isle, ME with Westwood One
coverage of the Bears-Packers game, from 0007-0015 EST. Although
only the sweep and staircase tones were audible, it seems unlikely

Just wondering if anyone has received an email or postal mail
verification of the WFIL DX Test six weeks ago from Rene Tatro? I
sent a report and mp3 files to him right after the test, and my
location was listed as one of those receiving the test in a message
from Rene to the ListServ a day
Four hours after I sent my earlier message to the ListServ, I
received a very attractive and fully detailed certificate by e-mail
confirming my reception. Thank you, Rene!

WHP heard very weakly with Morse code 2/27 at 0005:30 EST well under

This should have been much stronger.

Despite being sick with acute bronchitis last week, I managed enough

J.D. and Willis,
Since the test consisted of sweep tones, Morse code IDs, what I call
stair step tones (rising or falling pitch in discrete intervals
rather than a continuous rise or drop as with sweep tones), voice
announcements, etc., I'll bet Tom just made a typo in his original
message
WSRY-1550 heard in Vermont on DX test on 11/29/09 at times from
0001-0026 EST with sweep tones, Morse code IDs, and stair step tones
very weakly under mostly nulled CBE, hiss from WQEW, and an unID SS
station. An unusual interval signal-like jingle heard from the SS
station at one point.
I, too, am saddened to learn of the passing of Harry Helms. Alhtough
I never met Harry, I have fond memories of the DX tests he organized
years ago from stations in the Carolinas. I still have the simple,

The WHTB-1400 DX Test was not heard 3/29 from 0100-0115 EDT tune-out
from my home in Vermont. It appears from everyone else's posts that
the test did not run. Has anyone heard from Jay Rogers confirming
this?

Do we know for sure yet whether WHTB-1400 will indeed conduct a DX
Test on Sunday, March 29th at 0200-0300 EDT? I forgot to ask Jay
Rogers in my e-mails about the WSAR-1480 DX Test. Perhaps Jay or
someone from ABDX can comment.

WSAR-1480 heard on DX Test 3/22 0200-0217 tune-out mostly on top with long
voice IDs, Morse code IDs, sweep tones, sirens, whistles, and jingles.
WHBC briefly surfaced with an ID at 0200 but was mostly nulled. UnID SS
station occasionally on top, especially around 0202. Heard on Sony

WHYL-960 heard very weakly at 0009 EDT and again at 0020 EDT with
Morse code IDs at two different pitches and sweep tones, barely
audible under extremely strong WEAV-960, in Plattsburgh, NY, just a
few miles line-of-sight across Lake Champlain from my QTH in Saint

identifications, voice announcement, and jingle were heard most

It is actually not that uncommon for stations to have a link to an
on-line reception report form. WHBC-1480 has a link to a report form

The IRCA's DX Monitor listed the test as Saturday, 3/29/08, 0300-0400 and
dxtests.info has it as Saturday morning (late Friday night), 3-4 a.m.
Eastern Time (0700-0800 UTC). Seems pretty clear this means that most of
us would be hearing this test early Saturday morning (on the 29th),

WIMA-1150 DX Test heard very weakly from 0200-0215 EST with Morse code IDs
