The Asian big guns sounded big indeed this morning as unusually good
propagation extended for a second day, but the second-tier TP's seemed to drop
off significantly. 594, 657, 1053 and 1566 managed their best signals of the
new season so far, though, with most of the other regulars showing up
Thanks to Richard, Walt and Dennis for their earlier reports. Asian propagation
was again well above average here for September of a lean solar year, with the
Japanese and Korean big guns on 594, 1053 and 1566 exceptionally strong. Most
of the other Japanese and Korean regulars were pretty
Thanks to Colin for his initial report, and I certainly can agree with him that
Asian signals improved quite dramatically this morning. Both the Japanese and
Korean big guns reached good levels across the band, and there were a few
unusual stations that showed up. For the first time this season

Hello All,
This morning's dreary session was probably the worst clunker of the new season
so far, with only a couple of Asians managing very poor audio. With conditions
obviously disturbed and without any South Pacific propagation (in this DU-dead
zone), it was a real
Hello All,
As Richard reported there was somewhat of a drop off in TP propagation this
morning, with decent audio pretty much limited to the big guns (594, 747, 774,
828, 972, 1053 and 1134) here. Two minor exceptions were 558 and 603, the
latter of which had a low-level snarl between
Hello All,
It was a very strange morning here as the Japanese big guns were strangely
weak, but several Chinese (led by the new powerhouse on 603 kHz) were as strong
as ever. The Koreans were somewhat in between, with some fair signals like
558-HLQH and the 1053-Jammer but others like
Gary, you're right about being in a location where no DU are heard.
Everyone else, including me, were hearing an abundance of DU today!
Cheers,...Walt

I guess we can not all own or use the same few square
meters of ionosphere at the same time.
Personally, I have not used a single square
list for the International Radio Club of America

Hello All,
The TP propagation here this morning seemed a lot closer to Nigel's
positive version than to Dennis' results, so maybe the parallel universes
are finally coming into convergence? In any case, it's safe to say that the
doldrums of the past two days are over, although it
