I don't use JBuilder so I cannot be very helpful, however, the tar.gz file
with the JDK in it is exactly what you need. There is no mumbo jumbo setup
or config files that go anywhere, essentially you unzip the tar, it creates
a sub directory called "jdk1.2.2" and you just move that dir wherever yo
your
distro, I do not know how Corel works unfortunately. Do you have a Win32 box
at your disposal to test the code atleast, to narrow down the possibiltiy of
it being the JDK and not your machine?

What is the code you are using to open the socket? Are you specifying a port
( port 80 ) and are you sure its not in use?
i.e.
String hostName = "www.yahoo.com";
Socket HTTPConnection = new Socket( hostName, 80 );

Blackdown Team,
Noticed the webpage has been in
limbo for almost 2 months now on JDK 1.2.2/1.3 status/jck information. Can you
update us with anything? Are you leaving the 1.2.2 port up to Sun now and
concentrating on 1.3? Or are you stepping out totally from the porting
scene?
-Riyad
For me personally that happens because I either don't know the answer, or am
not sure and want to avoid looking like an idiot.

Yes.. ditto. I'd like to know what that means as well. ( not in an accusing

anything?

Q: After looking at the JDK 1.3 code, how portable does it
look? Is it much different from 1.2? Or do you think you'll

What is the difference between the JDK and the
JRE?
Thanks in advance,
Riyad
P.S.> Sorry about the HTML, this isn't my

Does JDK1.2 still not work with Native/JIT as
shown on the current JCK status page, or has that just been forgotten to be
updated?
-Riyad
P.S> Sorry for the HTML, this is not my

Now with the release of 1.1.7_v3 I was thinking of
reinstalling it with Swing 1.1.1x and was wondering what the
difference between that setup and jdk1.2prev1 would be. As
far as abilities to do certain things.
Thanks in advance.

REALLY that hard to port? I don't remember how long 1.1.7 took,
